The position is available from October 2020 onwards, but a later start is possible. The position is part of a collaborative research project between Center Emile Bernheim (Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management) and Center for Social and Cultural Psychology (Faculté de Sciences Psychologiques et de l’Education), Université libre de Bruxelles.
The objective of this research project is to advance our understanding of diversity decoupling, namely the gap between what organizations say and what they do with regard to diversity. Organizations could value diversity at the formal level, but this is not totally reflected in people’s knowledge and evaluation regarding various concrete actions. A particular attention will be devoted to gender policies and their impact in organizations such as universities.
Candidates must hold (or anticipate receiving very soon) a Master degree in psychology and /or management, and demonstrate expertise and interest in diversity and gender. Candidates should have expertise in using various quantitative (e.g., experimental methods, surveys) and qualitative methods (e.g., content analysis) to study the perception and impact of diversity policies. A good level of English and French is required. There are no teaching obligations associated with the position.
The initial duration of the position is 2 years, renewable for 2 more years if the progress of the project is significant. After one year, the doctoral student will be encouraged to apply for an FNRS (Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique) grant.
